China's  primary aluminum imports rose in August, but exports declined

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in August 2024, the domestic import volume of primary aluminum was approximately 163,000 mt, up 25.7% MoM and up 6.5% YoY.

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in August 2024, the domestic import volume of primary aluminum was approximately 163,000 mt, up 25.7% MoM and up 6.5% YoY. From January to August, the cumulative import volume of primary aluminum was about 1.512 million mt, up 100.2% YoY.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in August 2024, the domestic export volume of primary aluminum was approximately 14,900 mt, down 21.3% MoM and down 41.5% YoY. From January to August, the cumulative export volume of primary aluminum was about 62,000 mt, down around 41.3% YoY.
